Combinational design is design of digital circuits with use logic gates. For combinational circuits, the output of the circuit at any time instance depends only on inputs at that instance i.e. the output may get affected as soon as there is any change in input.
We discuss design of following combinational circuits:
Arithmetic Circuits (Before going to arithmetic circuits it is worth going through the number systems)
              Adder
              Subtractor

Code Converter

Encoder & Decoder

Multiplexer & Demultiplexer

These combinational designs are important blocks in almost all big and complex digital systems like processors and controllers.
